More than 1,300 worshippers from 15 countries joined in the second annual Next Level Worship International ReFOCUS retreat March 3-5, 2022. In addition to this outstanding online attendance, there were also several gathered in person at Pensacola, Florida, at Olive Baptist Church. Many gathered together in groups around the world, including Pakistan, Uganda, South Africa, United States, Mexico, Zambia, Ethiopia and more to worship and learn in their native languages. Mark Bazal in Pakistan shared, “We had a group of more than 250 people, and we enjoyed each session and were blessed by the moments of worship and encouraged by the sermons.”

Restful Refreshment

This retreat allowed for many worshippers from around the world to experience a time of restful refreshment. Worshippers across the globe had this to say: “Relaxing and refreshing my spirit at ReFOCUS was a blessing.” “The sessions of worship and teaching were spiritually refreshing and enlightening.” “The sessions were wonderful, and I was greatly blessed by this refreshing experience.” Unique to ReFOCUS was the global interaction during times of worship as worshippers were able to see one another singing. Shawn Stinson, an in-person attendee said,“Worshiping with people in the room and the online groups from various countries was a glimpse of what heaven will be like.”

In the final session, Tasha Layton shared her heartfelt experiences as a worshiper and led everyone in worship, leaving many in awe and admiration. Herbert, a worship pastor in Uganda had several gathered to attend ReFOCUS and said, “Tasha Layton is just anointed! Everyone that attended, even those that came for the first time, here at Destiny Africa were blown away.”

Global Interaction

At ReFOCUS 2022 NLWI implemented a new virtual feature nick-named, “The Beach.” During each session, worshippers (both in person and virtually) from around the globe were able to mingle with others via the Wonder platform. Marcel in Bangladesh said “I personally loved the beach feature as it really made the virtual experience much more interactive and fun.” Another mentioned how “the interactive opportunity at the virtual beach was a unique experience, and it was encouraging to get to meet with worshippers from different parts of the world.” Countless mentioned their extreme enjoyment in this new interactive feature brought to both the in-person and online experiences.

Looking Forward

While ReFOCUS is over for 2022, several are excited to take what they have learned and host a local retreat for their worship teams using this group-package. Others such as Dylan from Louisiana are looking forward to applying what they have learned. “I am excited to take what I have learned at ReFOCUS and implement new things to grow my ministry.” An attendee from Zambia exclaimed, “We need this next year!” As God allows, we will see you next year at our third annual ReFOCUS.
