By Dwayne Moore
I was reading Hebrews 11:1 recently and the word “hope" jumped out at me–“Faith is the reality of what we hope for…"
I did a word study on hope and discovered this at Bible.org: “The modern idea of hope is ‘to wish for, to expect, but without certainty of the fulfillment; to desire very much, but with no real assurance of getting your desire.’ In Scripture, however, hope is an indication of certainty. ‘Hope’ in Scripture means ‘a strong and confident expectation.'"
I’ve never tried to list my hopes. Honestly never thought about it before. So, I asked myself, “What do you hope for, Dwayne?–I.e., what do you strongly and confidently expect by faith?"
Below are some things I wrote in my QT journal that I HOPE for, based on promises in Scripture. Looking at them I realize this list represents what I’ve staked my entire life on. They’re things I cannot see but am trusting God for. I’ve literally built my worldview and life decisions on these “hopes."
What would you add to this list? Would love to hear your comments! Please leave us a comment below. Thanks!
