Building a Habit of Lifestyle Worship

runner feetI’ll never forget what Pastor Rick Warren said to our small group of worship leaders gathered at Saddleback’s retreat house once. Sitting comfortably beside me with his feet propped up, he taught us for over 2 hours!

What stood out most was this one statement Pastor Rick said: “Discipleship is basically replacing our old habits with new ones, and if we want people to grow we must help them form new habits.” He went on to say that it can take up to 40 days to form a new habit.

That prompted me to put together a 40-day plan to deeper our daily worship. It’s based on the Greatest Commandment of loving God and others. We are to love Him with our whole heart (spiritually), mind (intellectually), soul (emotionally), and strength (physically), and we are love our neighbors as our ourselves (relationally).
